Volkswagen bug sculpture by Tristyn

Volkswagen bug sculpture by Tristyn

Hi everyone,

My niece, Tristyn,  finished making her second Volkswagen bug sculpture and getting it painted.  She has a friend, Tim, that loves Volkswagens and so she wanted to make one for him in clay.  He owns a blue bug.  She picked a beautiful deep blue glaze color to match his bug.

The clay sculpture is made from a low fire earthenware clay that we fired to Cone 2.  Then glazes were added and it was fired to Cone 06.  After that she painted the chrome parts such as the bumper, mirrors, hood ornament, and wheel rims with a non fired acrylic chrome colored paint.  She wrapped it and is going to give it to Tim tonight.  The joy of giving for no reason at all but just because, is the best kind of giving I think.

Here are the pics of my niece and her Volkswagen ceramic sculpture…..

Hello may I ask if you sell any molds of the VW BUG? My daughter would like to diamond paint one. She is a huge Bumblebee of the Transformers fan and I would love to purchase one if you sell them or can guide me to who does?
