Newspaper article about Luisa and I Our group show yesterday went really well at the Orland Art Center. Luisa was just beaming with many wanting to take her picture along with me and the sculpture I made of her. Luisa’s painting was on the wall for display too. Luisa drove to the show herself (almost 92) and was wearing a beautiful royale blue dress along with her high heels.

Luisa Mowing Hi friends, Been sculpting but not with anything to share for right now. I’ve been working on getting the enlargement done for Beautiful Dreamer and it is taking so long (could have sculpted a few sculptures in place of this by now) but will be well worth it when done. Just wanted to share with you my dear friend Luisa mowing her lawn. Do you remember that I sculpted her?

Luisa mold Here’s a few pictures of the mold that I made for my Luisa sculpture. I really didn’t have time to take a lot of pictures this time a round but at least I have a few to share. The sculpture was cut at the ankles so that I could mold the items separately.

Luisa at the Park Hi friends, This past month we enjoyed a celebration in the park. Ron and I shared a booth where he showed his book and I showed sculpture. It was a beautiful day in the park. What was a real treat was having some from our congregation there to support us and sit with us near our booth. Also, Luisa, 90 years of age, the subject of one of my sculptures, came out for the day. She felt like a star because we were pointing her out as people were looking at the sculpture of her. Here’s a few pictures of Luisa that day in the park.

Luisa clay sketch Hi Everyone, Here’s a quick sketch of Luisa, a close friend that is 89 years old. She’s the sweetest lady that you’ll ever meet. She is an artist herself and paints beautifully. She eminates love to all, strangers or dearest friends. I just had to make a clay sculpture of her. I worked from pictures that I had and memory. I know it would be better to have her right there, that is for sure. Now I need to have her come and make some alterations to her body because I have her torso too long and knees to narrow. Working from life prevents backtracking and reworking the sculpture. :) To see sculpture pics please click below:
