New Video- “Beautiful Dreamer in Clay”New Video- “Beautiful Dreamer in Clay” Hi Everyone, Here’s my very first sculpture video and it’s of Beautiful Dreamer. I love the crispness of the clay details and wanted to show it all to you. The best way is with video (either that or a ton of pictures). I like video because emotion can be conveyed with the movement of the camera, the spin of the sculpture- almost like dancing, and then accompanied with lyrical music. She fired perfectly in the kiln and I liked her so much crisp and white, that I added no color, just wax. She is an off-white color with speckles here and there from the clay showing. They are like beauty marks to me. Underneath her chaise lounge, I wrote the words of Stephen Foster’s song, “Beautiful Dreamer.” I like the heirloom feel it gives the piece, to have the hand signed words written on it. I just really enjoyed making this sculpture. I’m glad to share it with you via video. I’d like to do more videos of my sculpture too. Afterall, that’s half the fun of making sculpture, to share it with everyone else. :-) Hope you’re having a wonderful fall. It’s so pretty this time of year. Except for the yardwork (had to blow lots of leaves today) it’s a lovely time of year, with the rustling of the leaves and coziness of the cool weather (by staying indoors, hee, hee). ~Tamara
