Garden Reverie – 3rd PostGarden Reverie – 3rd Post To follow the work in progress posts of Garden Reverie you can find them all here . (See Garden Reverie’s finished clay pics and promotion and bronze photos)
Here she is as a nudy. I kind of like her nude but will like her even better with hair. Clothing needed to be thought about as this will impact what hairstyle she would have. Since I really like the nude backview, I wanted to have minimal clothing and leave as much of the back showing as possible. To determine just what kind of hairstyle for the backview, I went again into Photoshop. Here below you can see that I played around with adding some hair flowing partway down on her back. Also, the direction of possible dress folds can be seen. To emphasize the length of her torso and the verticle flow, I decided to see how a long loose hair braid would look. Even though I like the back showing, something about the spine showing wasn’t as pleasing as I wanted. Adding the long braid gave some coverage and looked beautiful to me. What do you think? Here’s the mockup picture below.
With knowing that I wanted wavy curls in the front and a loose braid in the back I could now set out on the real sculpture and begin sculpting. For my next post, I’ll share photos of hair being added. Thanks for watching. ~Tamara

Boy, I wish I was as good with Photoshop as you are! Then again, you probably have the full version and I have the LE version. Do you use a digital tablet to draw, or your mouse? There’s so much to learn about art, I’m constantly boggled!
Your lady looks lovely, as expected! And I like the way you’ve planned her hair. Looking forward to seeing how you dress her! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lynda,
Thanks again for your comments!
I do have the full version but all I used was the brush tool which your version would have too. Sometime I need to get a digital pen as it would be so much easier to draw with!
Talk soon,
